About Heidi and HTB Project Navigation
Heidi Timm-Bijold has a well-deserved reputation for “getting it done.” She has an ability to navigate project challenges, secure financial and people resources and apply her subject matter expertise, all while keeping relationships at the core of her efforts.
Her areas of expertise include project management, public-private financing, brownfield redevelopment, local government, grant writing and administration, small business startup and stakeholder communications.
Timm-Bijold’s career in business development began when she moved to Duluth in 1983. She worked with a series of small businesses organizations before being hired by the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1989 to study, start up and direct a business incubation program that continues to serve entrepreneurs today as the Superior Business Center. She served on the boards of both state and national incubation organizations.
Following, she worked at the City of Duluth, MN for over twenty-one years during which she worked on many complex, high-profile development projects with the business community. During that time, she secured and administered over $36 million in grant funding for both private sector and public projects. Much of her work revolved around brownfield remediation and redevelopment which earned well-deserved regional and national attention in the brownfield arena. She is currently serving her second term on the board of Minnesota Brownfields.
Recently, Timm-Bijold launched her own consulting service, HTB Project Navigation in Duluth. She continues to manage projects for large and small businesses, public agencies, units of government and nonprofit organizations. She recently secured certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
